Breakthrough The Cold Weather
I learned a valuable lesson the other day. I was listening to a CD that talked about the psychology of asking. Within the CD the author asked “how many people’s lives did you add value to today?”
When I finished up with a client in the mid afternoon, I noticed a homeless woman pushing a shopping cart up a steep hill collecting bottles in freezing weather.
It didn’t phase me until I got into my car and heard the same CD. I remembered the question “how many lives did you add value to today?”
I shook my head and said aloud “Not Enough.” So I went to the local gas station and bought a cup of coffee and bagel with butter. I also noticed 1 glove in my car that I haven’t worn for a few years that was still in great shape. Unfortunately I only had one :(.
When I approached the woman with these items, her face lit up with such joy and it put a smile on my face. I knew then that I just added value to someone’s life.
Now everyday, I think to myself how can I add value to more people on a daily basis whether within my career of coaching or in general life.
This post has nothing to do with fitness or nutrition. It has to do with VALUE. How much value can we give to people all around? I’m talking year round, not just during the holidays.
