Being Healthy and Looking Healthy are Two Different Things
When many fitness and nutrition companies are marketing “sexy” and “chiseled” to consumers of their products, Breakthroughs to Fitness knows that looking good comes as a bonus to being healthy. While many of those companies would be quick to say that these two concepts go hand-in-hand, they in fact do not.
“How to Live to 100″, an article published by Dr. Maoshing Ni, details habits that we have that can actually cause us to age quicker. Lack of exercise and a poor diet are two items on his list but Dr. Mao goes on to list stress, unhappiness and an overload of toxins as culprits that add extra years to the inevitable aging process.
Dr. Mao’s article sheds light on factors that many people do not think of when they prepare to battle their unhealthy lifestyles. While most of us seeking eternal fitness glory know that exercise and diet are key elements to achieving our goals, we might not be aware that things like stress, exhaustion and intake of toxins also play a role in our dwindling health.
While yes, the desire to have abs of steel will motivate us to get to the gym, what about the toxic environments that cause us immense amounts of stress, exhaustion or unhappiness. Things that have been proven to shorten our life spans in the long run are never things we think to take care of when we think fitness. Isn’t the bigger picture to be “healthy” not just “sexy”?
We here at Breakthroughs not only strive to obtain the body you’ve always wanted, but also get the health you so richly deserve. Not only will the outside look great but the inside will feel great. So we remind you to make attempts to reduce stress in your life, try to reduce negative toxins that enter your body (i.e.-smoking, refined sugars and preservatives associated with over processed foods) and remember that a good night’s sleep revitalizes our bodies.
